Conference organizers are pleased to offer additional tours for OMN 2015 participants and their accompanying members for additional fees. Advanced registration is required and tour depends on meeting minimum registration quota.
Jerusalem Old and New, Above and Under-ground
Discover many of Jerusalem's hidden gems in this tour. Ascend to the Temple Mount, (also known as Haram al-Sharif), which is only accessible in the early morning hours, and see the Al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock Mosques. Witness history unfold as you tour the City of David, dating back 3000 years to Biblical era, and it's water works which eluded the besieging Roman legion. Experience the vibrant city market in a unique tasting tour of local delicacies, to be followed by a walking tour in early Jerusalem neighborhoods (beyond the protection of the Old City walls). Modest attire must, due to Temple Mount access.
Date: Sunday, August 2, 2015. 7:30 AM departure (due to limited visiting hours on the Temple Mount). Return in time for the conference Welcome reception.
Tour fee: $85 (fee includes transportation, guide, entrance fees to all sites and market tasting tour).
Full Day Excursion to Masada and the Dead Sea
An hour away from Jerusalem, witness the lowest point on Earth's surface and the mineral rich Dead Sea. The spectacular desert views contrast against the blue sea, which is extremely dense and saline, making for a unique floating experience. The rock fortress of Masada was build by King Herod during the Roman period, and served as a last bastion of the Hebrews during the uprising against the Romans, ending in their mass suicide on the mountain-top. Visit a desert oasis, teaming with sweet water and wildlife. And finish the day with a visit to Bedouin village, where you will be treated with a camel ride and dinner in a communal tent.
Tour will depart from and return to the Ramada Hotel late at night. Fee includes travel by bus and all entrance fees and dinner. Does not include personal lunch expense at a cafetria break.
